(based on 2 user ratings) EDITOR REVIEW: HILLERØD. Known as the National Historical Museum, Frederiksborg Slot is one of Denmark's most tranquil and pristine Renaissance palaces. Located in the middle of a lake, the palace was built for King Christian IV from 1602 to 1620 and was the seat of royal coronations through 1840. Now, it offers the historical splendor of knights, princes and princesses, along with royal furnishings and beautifully landscaped gardens. 10Best User Reviews
